Traditional Country Inn with Rooms near Romsey
The Star Inn is a seventeeth century family run freehouse. East Tytherley, the smallest village in the Test Valley, is in an area celebrated for its beautiful woodland and chalk streams, and here in front of the village cricket green you will find us. Our aim first and foremost is to be a village inn and we welcome everyone. Quite simply we try to give a genuinely warm welcome to all whilst providing the best quality ales and food that we can. So for traditional country hospitality, delightful lunches, delicious evening meals, and bed and breakfast accommodation the Star Inn is the ideal place.

"This remodelled country inn with rooms has instant appeal, with its pretty courtyard-style garden at the front and views over the village cricket green at the back. Inside, there are leather sofas, tub chairs, beams and log-burners. Lunch is alight affair, while the modern British evening menu is driven by local seasonal produce and assured skill. Expect roasted pork tenderloin, served with sage polenta, savoy cabbage and a haricot bean, smoked bacon and vegetable casserole, and to finish, perhaps a panettone bread and butter pudding with apricot coulis"

At the Star Inn at East Tytherley customers are being charged for tap water!
Since the beginning of July customers have been encouraged to make a donation to
WaterAid when they are provided with a glass or jug of tap water.
Tap into WaterAid is a simple, inspired way for us at The Star Inn and our customers to help bring water to the 1.1 billion people worldwide who have no access to safe drinking water. A suggested sum is added to the customer’s bill in return for table water and all donations made are passed onto WaterAid to fund life-saving water, sanitation and hygiene education projects in the developing world. We started this scheme at the beginning of July and already customers have been very supportive. It's so easy for all of us to take tap water for granted here in the UK but our customers have been happy to pay a contribution when they know it helps give clean drinking water to people less fortunate than themselves. WaterAid says it costs just £15 for them to bring safe water, sanitation and hygiene education to someone in poverty, the momentum that we could create through this initiative would literally change someone's life.
So we at The Star Inn at East Tytherley have chosen to Tap into WaterAid.
